You will find this news surprising.
The Roman Catholic Church does not truly believe in the
Bible as God's inerrant, authoritative Word.
They use a translation of the Bible that has been deliberately
altered.
The pope believes his authority is above the authority
of the inspired Word.
In AD 1229 the Holy Bible was officially forbidden to laymen--that's
"ordinary people".
It was placed on the "Index of Forbidden Books"
at the Council of Valencia.
In AD 1545 the Council of Trent declared that church tradition
is of equal authority with the Holy Bible.
In actual practice they deny that Scripture has any authority
at all.

"The norm for the interpretation of the Holy Scriptures
is always tradition"
"The connection of Scripture with tradition is very close.God
did not want to entrust His Truth solely to the DEAD WRITTEN WORD"
Excuse me!!
"DEAD WRITTEN WORD"???
The Word of God is quick (that means ALIVE!)
and powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword, cutting apart the soul and spirit, --and is an understander of the thoughts
and intent of the heart.
(KJV)

depart from your mouth: meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do everything written in it."
Acts 17:11 "Now these were more noble in character
than those of Thessolonica, in that they received tiw word with great eagerness, studying the scriptures every day to see
whether these things be so."
Matthew 15:6 Jesus said "You have made the "Word
of God of none effect by your vain tradition."

will never pass away."
